The Harvego Family
Our foundation is based on our love for the Sacramento area. We feel honored to be in a position to support the region, as well as the rest of the valley, as we watch it grow and thrive, rich in culture and humanity.
As a family, we are always looking for ways to strengthen our community by supporting entities that share similar views. We fully believe that with hard work, strong commitment, and focused priorities, this great region that we love and call home, can only get better.
As the patriarch of the Harvego Family Foundation, the Harvego Family Restaurant Group and the Harvego Companies, Lloyd Harvego has become synonymous with hard work, focus and tradition – qualities that he has passed down to his children and grandchildren.
For Lloyd, starting the Harvego Family Foundation was always seen as a way to give back to the community. “It was, and still is, the belief of my wife, my children and myself that those in the community who are able to give, should consider how they can best help. Having the foundation has been a very fulfilling part of all our lives.”
Since 1999, the Harvego Family Foundation has invested nearly $2 million into local nonprofit organizations. The Foundation was inspired by the fact that the Sacramento Region has been growing, and firmly believes that it will continue to flourish. We have a vision of both business and nonprofit organizations from throughout the region joining together to meet the needs and broaden the views of their communities.

For over 15 years, The Harvego Family Foundation has supported many charitable causes throughout the Sacramento region. Our giving focus has always been to help when help is needed, without a formal process. We will continue this path of giving for many more years to come.
In the Fall 2014 we introduced a new aspect to the Harvego Family Foundation – our annual Areas of Priority. These focus areas of giving will be part of a formal application process that is based on community need and fulfills the mission of the foundation.
